Overview
IP Whitelisting is a method used for adding an extra layer of security to your account by limiting a user’s account access to one or more IP addresses specified in the list of whitelisted IP’s.
Common Use Cases
Each individual user may choose to limit the risk of a security breach to their account by limiting account access to solely the IP address of their work site. Users may add as many other IP addresses to the list as they deem necessary.
Enabling IP Whitelisting
- Navigate to the Edit User / Profile section of your StrikeTracker account.
- Click the User Access tab.
- Click the Whitelist this user's access by IP address checkbox underneath the IP Whitelisting heading. Your current IP address will be displayed.
- To add your current IP address, click the + Add another link and paste your current IP address in the visible field.
- To add another IP address, click the + Add another link and paste the additional IP address in the visible field.
- When you've finished adding IP address, click Save.
- You will be prompted with a warning dialogue, and once you're confident you've entered the correct IP addresses, click Confirm.
You will now be presented with a success notification, and IP Whitelisting will have been successfully enabled.
Disabling IP Whitelisting
- Navigate to the Edit User / Profile section of your StrikeTracker account.
- Click the User Access tab.
- If you have numerous IP addresses listed, click the trash can icon adjacent to the IP address you want to remove from the whitelist.
- If you would like to remove all IP addresses listed, uncheck the Whitelist this user's access by IP address checkbox underneath the IP Whitelisting heading. All IP addresses previously entered will no longer be visible.
- When you're sure you want the IP address no longer whitelisted, click Save.
- You will be prompted with a warning dialogue, and once you're confident you'd like the IP address to be removed from the whitelist, click Confirm.
You will now be presented with a success notification, and IP Whitelisting will have been successfully enabled.
