The first step to delivering content on the CDN is to create a Site. Here’s how it works.
Quick Intro To Sites
All the content you'll serve over the CDN will come from a Site. Sites were formerly called "Hosts," and they contain the information the CDN uses to determine exactly how and when your content is served to your customers. Sites also determine how and when that content is pulled from your Origin and cached by the CDN.
How To Create A Site
Start the Site creation process. If this is the first Site you’ll be adding to your account, click the “Sites” tab from the navigation menu, and then click Create a Site.
If you’ve already added one or more Sites, navigate to the Site listing page and click Add Site.
Enter your domain in the domain field. We’ll scan it for your origin server and use that as your default Origin for the Site. We also collect your website’s name and where the domain is registered, if we can. If you're wondering how we do this neat trick, read our support article on how we detect your Origin.
You can change the Origin from the default to whatever you’d like.
If SSL was detected on your Origin, we’ll make a secure connection to it when pulling content to cache.
The Configuration Summary displayed post Site creation shows you the default configuration policies applied to your Site to enable immediate delivery. Click Complete to finish the Site creation process.

CNAME Or ANAME Target
Depending on whether your Site’s domain is your root domain or a subdomain, you’ll need to set the host in your DNS manager to point to either an ANAME or CNAME record, and use the ANAME/CNAME target as its value.
Not sure how to set a CNAME or ANAME record? Look no further. We've got articles for CNAME records management and ANAME records management.
Editing A Site's Configuration Policies
For a lot of websites and applications, the default configurations applied to new Sites will be enough. You can view and edit those configurations when editing a Site's default settings.
The simple editing mode there exposes default configurations for Origins, custom domains, caching, compression, and cross origin resource sharing (CORS).
For those more experienced CDN users, Advanced editing mode exposes every configuration policy available for editing. Each configuration policy has its own support article, and can be found from the support homepage or by searching with the use of keywords.
Managing Sites
From the Site listing page you’re given an at-a-glance view of each Site's enabled features, delivery method, and last modified date. From here you can also edit Site configurations, and clone or delete a Site.
