Gzip Compression allows you to speed up your websites or web apps by making certain files smaller before they're delivered to end-users.
Some older versions of browsers don’t support compression. In that case, the CDN will deliver uncompressed file versions.
While just about any file can be compressed, certain files like text files will be compressed more effectively than others. For example, files like .zip files which are already compressed may actually become larger when GZipped do to the file’s receiving GZip meta data. This is an extreme edge case, and the size difference is negligible.
